Performing a New Installation

Installing OrchestrateIT on your computer for the first time is effortless with our fully-automated installation wizard.

  1. Sign in to the OrchestrateIT Download Portal
  2. Download ‘OrchestrateIT Desktop Client’
  3. Run the ‘OrchestrateIT Desktop Client’ installation package.
  4. If you are prompted to install prerequisites, click ‘Next’ and wait for the updates to the .NET Framework to be downloaded and installed.
  5. Review and accept the OrchestrateIT Terms and Conditions and check the license acceptance checkbox if you would like to proceed. Click ‘Next’.
  6. Select whether you would like to ‘Connect to Existing Site’ or ‘Create New Site’. If OrchestrateIT is already used in your school, select ‘Connect to Existing Site’. If this is the first time your school is using OrchestrateIT, select ‘Create New Site’. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

 

Connect to Existing Site

  1. Browse for and select your school’s site file to automatically connect to your school’s OrchestrateIT server. If you do not have a site file, click ‘Manually Specify Connection Details’ and enter the requested information. Click ‘Next’ to validate your connection details and continue the installation.
  2. If you are ready to install the OrchestrateIT Client, click ‘Install’ to commence the installation process.
  3. Once the installation has successfully completed, click ‘Finish’ to close the installation wizard and open OrchestrateIT.

 

Create a New Site

  1. Enter your site name and site license key, ensuring the details that you enter match the information on your invoice. Click ‘Next’ to validate your license. Note: For the installer to successfully validate your license key, you must be connected to the internet.
  2. Specify the address, port and credentials for a Microsoft SQL database server, using SQL-based authentication details. Specify the name for your new database. This database should not already exist on the server as it will be created by the installation wizard. Click ‘Next’ to validate your database server credentials.
  3. Enter the credentials for an administrative user. These will be the credentials that you will use to log-in to OrchestrateIT for the first time. These can be changed after first log-on.
  4. If you are ready to install the OrchestrateIT Client, click ‘Install’ to commence the installation process.
  5. Once the installation has successfully completed, click ‘Finish’ to close the installation wizard and open OrchestrateIT.
